Holy Scroll (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS mobile application, Holy Scroll (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the following personal information, provided voluntarily by you through Sign in with Apple:

• First name
• Last name
• Email address

This information is used solely for:

• Creating and authenticating your account
• Associating your App data with your account for cross-device syncing
• Displaying your First name on the Home page of the app

Your App Data (Streak Data, Favorite Verses, Recent Verses, and Thoughts)

Your streak progress, favorite Bible verses, recently viewed verses, and personal thoughts or notes (“App Data”) are stored exclusively in your personal iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit technology. We do not have access to this data. It is encrypted and synchronized directly between your devices via iCloud—we cannot view, read, export, or modify your App Data. This data remains under your sole control and is governed by Apple’s iCloud terms and privacy standards.

No other personal data is collected, accessed, or stored by the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to:

• Enable account login and authentication via Apple
• Store and sync your App data (streaks, favorites, thoughts/notes, recent verses) to your account
• Restore your data when you log in on a new device

We do not use your data for marketing, analytics, advertising, or any purpose beyond account functionality and data syncing.

3. Data Storage and Security

• Your iCloud App Data remains in your iCloud account even after account deletion in the App (subject to Apple’s iCloud retention policies).
• Account identifiers (name and email) are securely stored on our servers.
• App Data (streaks, favorites, recent verses, thoughts) is never stored on our servers—it resides only in your private iCloud container. We cannot access nor see it.
• We retain your account identifiers only as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, this information is permanently deleted within 30 days.

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties, except:

• With Apple, as required for Sign in with Apple authentication
• With our cloud service providers (acting under strict confidentiality) solely to store and sync your data
• If required by law or to protect our legal rights

5. Your Choices

• You control what information is shared via Sign in with Apple (including the option to hide your email).
• You may delete your Holy Scroll account at any time in the App, which removes your name and email from our servers.
• Your App Data remains in your iCloud and can only be deleted by: Deleting the App’s iCloud container via iOS Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage
• You may request a copy of the account data we hold (name and email) by contacting us.

6. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn such data has been collected, we will delete it immediately.

7. Texas Residents

Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA), Texas residents have the right to:

• Know what personal data we collect (see Section 1)
• Access and receive a copy of their data
• Delete their personal data
• Opt out of the sale of personal data (we do not sell your data)

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy in the App and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
